| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Double Platinum |
This film is based loosely on the life of Brandy, whose character is in search of her mother, portrayed by Ross. The soundtrack is very noticeable, since it obviously includes actual Brandy songs such as Have You Ever? Once Brandy's character gets to know her mother a little better, they grow closer together. This movie is a prime example of families trying to reconcile (in this case, Ross' character had left her daughter behind while she was still a baby). In addition, it follows the same blueprint as an album by the smooth jazz artist Najee, which includes remakes of songs by another Motown legend, Stevie Wonder.
