| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Unfaithful Wife |
THE UNFAITHFUL WIFE (La Femme Infidèle) is a movie written and directed by Claude Chabrol in 1969.
Michel Bouquet and his wife Stéphane Audran live with their son in a superb mansion in the country near Paris. Bouquet suspects Audran cheats on him. He hires a private investigator who confirms his suspicions. Still madly in love with Audran, he secretly meets her lover Maurice Ronet and kills him. After having hidden Ronet's corpse, he returns home and, the next days, observes Audran's behavior and anguish.
