| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Big Heat |
THE BIG HEAT is a movie directed by Fritz Lang in 1953.
Sgt. Bannion is a police officer investigating the suicide of a policeman. When he becomes too curious about the implication of the mob boss Mike Lagana in this event, Lagana decides to get rid of him. Unfortunately, Bannion's wife, instead of the policeman, is killed during the assassination attempt. From this moment on, Bannion, rejecting the help of his friends and superiors, will begin a personal crusade against Lagana. He resigns from his job and will eventually discover that Higgins, the head of the Police Dept, is on the payroll of Mike Lagana's criminal organization.
