A young man joins the Marines and is sent to Vietnam. He gets shot, severing his spine, leaving him a parapledgic. After spending some time in a terrible veterans hospital, he returns home to find people protesting the war. After alienating his family he goes to a mexican villa with a lot of other disabled vets. After seeing and experiencing what the war does to people he flip-flops his position and begins protesting it. He participates in and leads many demonstrations. Eventually, he finds himself in a position to have his voice and message heard.
