Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Slugger's Wife
In this rock n' roll-baseball story, a singer meets the star slugger of the Atlanta Braves, and the two get married. Soon their hot streaks and slumps mesh with each other. As long as the rock singer makes hit records, the slugger goes on a hot hitting streak. But when she decides to settle down and raise a family, her husband's numbers start to slip. After she sees what's gone wrong, she goes back to the studio again and he starts another hitting streak. This film is a heartwarming movie that manages to combine the pressures of being a rock star and those of being a star baseball player rather well. In other words, it's a home run for both the romantic- and sports-movie fans alike.
