| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Fatal Attraction |
Dan Gallagher (Douglas), a successful New York businessman, has been happily married to Beth (Archer) for 9 years. They have a 6-year-old daughter named Ellen (Latzen). One weekend when his girls are out of town, Dan takes out a flirtatious coworker, Alex (Close) for a weekend of physical fun. But, professionally frustrated, single, and childless, Alex takes the coupling much more seriously and begins to stalk not only Dan but his family. How far will this unbalanced woman go? And what must Beth do to protect her household and cheating hubby? This 1987 film is another smarmy thriller by director Adrian Lyne; fervently acted, it descends from provoking character study to outright horror shocker in its final scenes.
