| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Cat Ballou |
This is a humorous tale narrated by Nat King Cole and Stubby Kay of how a sweet school teacher fresh out of college is transformed into a depraved train robber and killer. Cat Ballou's innocence is shattered forever when
she comes home from college to find that the town, in league with a corrupt businessman, hires a gunslinger to kill her father so they can steal his water rights and build a slaughterhouse. Cat enlists the help of two
cattle rustlers and an indian and hires Kid Shaleen, a famous gunslinger she reads about in dime novels. Kid Shaleen turns out to be an alcoholic washed-up has-been and is alseep on the job when her father is gunned down
by the gunslinger. Bent on revenge, Cat decides to bring the town to ruin. But being completely inexperienced in the ways of train robbing and killing, she's really got her work cut out for her.
