Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Bad Santa
BAD SANTA is a movie directed by Terry Zwigoff (Ghost World) in 2003.

Willie and Markus are small-time crooks who use to meet each year in December in order to earn their yearly income. Willie, an alcoholic and embittered man, disguises then as Santa Claus and Markus as a dwarf and both take a job in a local mall as entertainers. At the end of the month, after having observed the security procedures of the commercial complex, they organize a night robbery.

Now Willie has spent the year in Miami, drinking even more than usual. Markus asks him to meet him in Phoenix where both are hired by John Ritter to entertain the children in his complex. Markus has a hard time controlling Willie who's loaded 24 hours a day. One day, Willie meets in the complex a 10 years old fat kid who really believes he's Santa Claus. He soon moves in the kid's house after having understood that the boy's father is in jail. At first, annoyed by the naivety of the kid, Willie will finally appreciate to rub elbows with someone who's still dreaming about a beautiful world.

Willie is a thief who, along with his friend Marcus, a midget, uses his job as a department store Santa Claus to rip off the store. He is an alcoholic who loves weird, kinky sex, constantly jeopardizing his job. He ends up staying with a fat, socially rejected little boy that comes to visit him at the store. At first, Willie plans to take advantage of the child's posh house, but he ends up becoming a father figure to the boy. Unfortunately, on Christmas Eve, the night of the big heist, Marcus turns on Willie.
