Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Hatari !
HATARI ! is a movie produced and directed by Howard Hawks in 1962. This film earned a nomination for the 1963 Academy Award in the Best Cinematography, Color category.

The setting is a small ranch in the eastern African prairie where seven friends are staying. Their job is to hunt and capture alive wild animals to be sold to international zoos.

There is not much of a story in HATARI !, except for a few so so scenes of comedy, but the movie presents numerous impressive hunting scenes involving rhinoceroses, buffalos, girafes and all kinds of wild animals.

--Daniel Staebler, Resident Scholar
