| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about A Scandal in Paris |
Based on François Vidocq's memoirs, A SCANDAL IN PARIS is a movie directed by Douglas Sirk in 1946.
The picture relates three or four episodes of Vidocq's adventurous life. He seduces women before stealing their jewels. In 1805, amazed by Vidocq's talent for deductions, the Minister of Police hires him as the new Chief of Police.
But Vidocq's past will soon catch him as old acquaintances recognize him and as the daughter of the Minister of police falls in love with him and secretly investigates his life.
