| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Lightning Over Water |
LIGHTNING OVER WATER is a movie written and directed by Wim Wenders and Nicholas Ray in 1980.
In the middle of the pre-production of "Hammett", German filmmaker Wim Wenders decides to go to New York to spend a few days with his friend Nicholas Ray, the reknown director of such movies as "Rebel without a Cause" and "55 Days at Peking".
Though Nicholas Ray is dying of cancer, both men agree to shoot a movie with Ray as the main character. So we follow the American director in his everyday life and in his battle against the pain. The most interesting scenes of the movie consist in the conversations between these two directors.
