Review Summary and Plot Commentary about A Walk to Remember
This movie starts of with a 57 year old man Landon Carter, turning back the pages of his life to the time when he was 17 years old, in the late 1950s. He speaks of an encounter with this too-good-to-be-true girl, Jamie Sullivan. She works as a volunteer to help the orphaned kids. On the other hand, Landon is a happy-go-lucky son of a Congressman, whose sole activity is hanging out with his gang of cool friends.
As Landon comes to know more about Jamie, he begins to develop tender feelings for her. The pace and mood of the movie is suddenly changed when a dark mystery about Jamie is revealed. She suffers from Leukemia! but even this discovery does not change Landons feelings for her and they get married anyway. Jamie dies four years after their marriage. Landon chooses to live with his memories for the rest of his life and never re-marries.

Shane West plays your typical high school, and popular, student who picks on the "outcast" (Mandy Moore). Eventually he's in the school play and needs help with his lines. Mandy Moore comes to the rescue. Shane West eventually falls in love with her and marries her. She then dies of leukemia.
