| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Heaven's Burning |
Midori (Youki Kudoh) and Yukio (Kenji Isomura) are Japanese newlyweds on the final night of their honeymoon in Australia. Midori, reluctant to return to her oppressive life, arranges to disappear and makes it look like a kidnapping. While in the bank to get funds, she iS kidnapped in a botched robbery as the would-be crooks flee. The get-away driver is Colin (Russell Crowe). The men want to kill her; Colin refuses to hear of it. The situation spins out of control. As this transpires, Yukio dsicovered he has been duped. He is furious that his bride has cuckolded him and plots revenge.
Colin and Midori go on the lam across Australia with a host of people – the police, Yukio and the crooks chasing them.
