| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Rabbit-Proof Fence |
RABBIT-PROOF FENCE is an Australian movie directed by Philip Noyce in 2002. This movie earned 10 nominations for the Australian Acadamy Awards and won three of them (best film, best sound and best original musical score).
Based on a true story, RABBIT-PROOF FENCE is about the condition of the half-caste aborigenes children in the Australia of the 30's. The policy of the government was to take these children from their mothers, to bring them to a camp and, eventually, to marry them to white people in order to "clean" their blood after a few generations.
Three young girls (14, 10, 8) escape of one of these camps and try to come back home through the outback. But they'll have to walk 1500 miles in a deserted landscape with an aborigenes tracker and the local police forces right behind them.
