Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Making the Grade
Goofball preppie Palmer Woodrow will do just about anything to get out of going to prep school. And Eddie Keaton (Judd Nelson) will do whatever he can to avoid his bookie and his thugs. When Palmer finds Eddie hiding out at his upscale golf club, he hires him to attend the snobby prep school in his place. No one would ever think to look for him there, so Eddie joins the scheme. At the prep school Eddie's streetwise personality and wit get him into all sorts of problems, and wins over the popular jock's swanky girlfriend. Things start to unravel, though, when Eddie's old neighborhood friends come calling, with the bookie (Andrew Dice Clay) and his thugs following shortly behind.
