| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Blue Collar |
BLUE COLLAR is a movie cowritten and directed by Paul Schrader in 1977.
Three friends, Keitel, Pryor and Kotto, work in the same car factory in Detroit. Each one of them has money problems and lives on a day by day basis. Work is hard, the wages low and the foremen demanding.
One day, they decide to steal the cash from the local union office but find nothing in the safe but $600 and a notebook that is the inventory of the illegal loans made with the money of the workers. Kotto proposes to blackmail the union leaders who, according to him, should be ready to pay $10,000 in order to recover the precious notebook.
But soon things get bad and Kotto is murdered. Keitel decides to send his family away and the union's main boss offers Pryor a job as foreman if he gives back the notebook. Will Keitel and Pryor's friendship survive this dramatic situation?
