| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Bell, Book, and Candle |
Jimmy Stewart, an editor, rents an apartment over the shop run by beautiful witch Kim Novak. When she finds that he's engaged to an old nemesis from her college days, she casts a spell to make him fall in love with her. But if a witch falls in love, she loses her powers. Her life is complicated by her brother, greedy warlock Jack Lemmon, and her aunt, bumbling witch Elsa Lanchester, as well as Ernie Kovacs as a mostly uniformed writer who specializes in witchcraft--and who, of course, Jimmy Stewart is eager to publish.
