| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about In Country |
The story centers on teenaged Samantha, who never knew her father. He died in Vietnam before she was born. She lives with her uncle Emmett (Bruce Willis) who also served in Vietnam. He and his veteran friends are unwilling to discuss the war with her, so she is left to try and find out what her father went through on her own. After discovering her father's journal, she decides to visit the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC with her uncle.
