Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Ed TV
As if foreshadowing the reality TV craze, Ed TV was released in 1999. It stars Matthew McConaughey as Ed, a video store clerk who agrees to make his life a 24 hour TV show. As his popularity skyrockets, his relationship with his brother, Ray (Harrelson) sours. Ray, in turn publishes a book about Ed, revealing all of his private secrets. Soon Ed is not only battling his brother but the executives who keep extending his contract.
