Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Showtime
Robert DeNiro plays a long time cop with a short temper who has to agree to do a "reality tv" cop show in order to stay out of trouble with the precinct. He is partnered with a rookie cop wanna be actor, Eddie Murphy, who is as eccentric as DeNiro is level headed. Throughout the film they have to overcome their differences, realize they actually like each other, stop bickering and cut through the hype the tv show is putting up to solve the crime. They have to stop a drug dealer who is peddling newfangled weapons designed to shoot through anything, including the armor cops wear.
