| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Awful Truth |
Jerry and Lucy Warriner, a very rich married couple, come to the respective conclusion that they are cheating on each other. Though they have no proof, they go to court to get a divorce and end up fighting over custody of their little dog. Both find new spouses: Lucy goes with the country yokel across the hall, Jerry with a stuffy society girl. It's clear that Jerry and Lucy still love each other, and each do their best to break up the new romances before their divorce becomes final.
