| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Gun Crazy (1949) |
Since he was a child, Bart Tare has loved guns, and goes so far as to steal one from a shop window. After leaving the army, he returns home to visit his friends. They go to the carnival together and Bart immediately falls for a young woman sharpshooter. He shows her his skills with a gun and joins the carnival act, later runing off together to marry.
Hoplessly attatched, she coerces him to steal money with her so they may live comfortably. The couple eventually move up to bank robbery, travelling by car all over the country to escape the law. Bart has always had a great fear of killing living creatures, and his struggle continues as the violence and robbery get too far out of control.
