| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about On The Town |
In this musical, three sailors are on 24-hour shore leave in New York City. They plan to see the sights, but spend most of the time chasing after and spending time with three beautiful women, the clock ticking by in the background. Gabey falls for 'Miss Turnstiles' and searches for her all over the city, Ozzie is admired by a anthropologist for his neanderthal features, and the shy Chip tries and fails to resist the advances of an aggressive lady cab driver. A very simple story, but full of memorable song and dance numbers.
