Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Matchstick Men
MATCHSTICK MEN is a movie directed by Ridley Scott (Alien, Gladiator) in 2003.

Roy Waller and his partner Frank Mercer are confidence tricksters. Roy, an obsessive/compulsive sufferer, must take his pills every morning if he wants to avoid panic attacks. The day he losts his pills down his basin, Frank sends him to Dr. Klein a psychiatrist. After a few days, Frank starts to trust Dr. Klein and explains to him that he's left his wife some 15 years before and, from this moment on, hasn't been with a woman.

Dr. Klein contacts his patient's former wife and learns that Roy's got a daughter, the 14 years old Angela. After a while, Angela and Roy get along pretty well and the young girl decides to spend a few days at her father's home. Meanwhile, Roy and Frank are meticulously preparing to swindle of Chuck Frechette. Roy asks his daughter Angela to play a small part in the fraud while Dr. Klein is suggesting to Roy to come back to an honest life.

Nicholas Cage portrays a conman with a few ticks. He is obsessive compulsive and takes medicine just to be able to leave his house. His partner, Sam Rochwell,is sympathetic but still gives him a hard time about it. They are trying to pull of their latest con, that Nicholas Cage says will be his last, when he finds out he may have a daughter he never knew. He now must balance the life he's known and made a very nice living at, his obsessive compulsive behavior and this new person claiming so much of his attention.
