| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Enforcer (1951) |
THE ENFORCER is a Warner production directed by Bretaigne Windust and Raoul Walsh in 1951.
D.A. Martin Ferguson is on the eve of the most important trial of his life. Tomorrow, he will send Albert Mendoza to the electric chair because he's got Rico who witnessed the only murder Mendoza has personnally committed. But Rico is afraid: Mendoza has already tried to kill him twice. Ferguson and the police captain Nelson will stay most of the night with Rico but, unfortunately, this witness panicks and accidentally dies while trying to escape the building.
Desperate, Ferguson will once again read the Mendoza files during the rest of the night. This person created a criminal organization formed by hitmen waiting all day long for contracts given by Mendoza. The corpses of all the victims were thrown into a lake so that the police had no dead bodies and no motives for the crimes.
When Mendoza felt that Ferguson was coming too close of certain members of his organization, he began to eliminate one by one those who could be a threat to him or testify during a trial.
