Review Summary and Plot Commentary about What's the Worst That Could Happen?
During a scuffle with homeowner Max Fairbanks (played by Danny DeVito), burglar Kevin Caffery (played by Martin Lawrence) loses the diamond engagement ring he has brought for his girlfriend to Fairbanks. Escaping through a window in the police car following his arrest, Caffery is free but still faces the wrath of his girlfriend who thinks he has given up crime.

Fairbanks is a wealthy, but unethical, businessman who has his own problems with the law in terms of his creditors and the IRS. Using this knowledge to his advantage, Caffery sets out to ruin Fairbanks while Fairbanks uses every resource at his disposal to crush Caffery.
