Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Outfit
Based on a Donald E. Westlake novel, THE OUTFIT is a movie written and directed by John Flynn in 1973.

Earl Macklin and his brother Eddie have unintentionally robbed a bank owned by the mob two years ago. Since that event, Earl has been spending his time in jail, and Eddie has retired in a small ranch.

Just before Earl's release, Eddie is murdered by hitmen and Earl himself is the target of a hit the night of his release. Earl decides to fight back the mob and avenge his brother. He's asking for $250,000.- in cash from the local mob boss and threatens to go on stealing the mob's money until the day he's paid. While the mob is actively looking for him, Earl and his friend Cody start to attack some of the mob's illegal offices.
