| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Secret Admirer |
On the last day of school before the start of summer vacation, Michael Ryan (Howell) receives an anonymous love letter in his locker. He suspects and hopes that the letter is from Deborah Anne Fimple (Preston), one of the most popular girls in school and the girl he's been yearning for since the start of school. But Deborah prefers older college guys. Michael tries to talk to Deborah at a party that night but she gives him the cold shoulder and this completely confuses him.
His closest friend Toni (Loughlin) is secretly in love with him and is the genuine letter writer but she doesn't let on that it was her. Instead when Michael turns to her for advice she suggests that he write Deborah an anonymous letter in return. Toni delivers the letter to Deborah and when she finds out that Michael wrote the eloquent letter the two go out on a date. However Michael soon realizes how shallow and self centered Deborah really is and wonders what he could have seen in her.
In the meantime the original letter falls into the hands of Deborah's and Michael's parents and before long both couples believe that their spouses are having affairs with the other! Finally all of the confusion clears and Michael figures out the truth and must catch up with his "secret admirer"
