| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Switch |
Steve Brooks (King) is an intolerable sexist and stereotypical macho man. His best friend, sweet sensitive Walter Stone (Smits) is the complete opposite of him. Walter warns Steve Brooks that one of these days he'll get what's coming to him. Walter has no idea how right he is. Steve Brooks is soon killed by an angry girlfriend who can take no more of his reprehensible chauvinistic behavior towards her. When he arrives at the gates of Heaven, Steve Brooks discovers that men like him do not get to enter in but must first learn their lessons. He is sent back to Earth reincarnated as a woman, Amanda Brooks (Barkin) and must live that way in order to see what it's like to be on "the other side of the fence." As a woman he gets first hand experience seeing how women are treated by men like the one he once was.
