Review Summary and Plot Commentary about So Close
A computer virus begins to devastate a large corporate network. Help arrives in the form of a white hat hacker known as the "Angel." The corporate executives want to meet Angel -- but when she shows up it is Lynn (Shu Qi), a beautiful and lethal killer on a mission.

She and her sister Sue (Zhao Wei) now have in their possession the World Panorama surveillance system, which was developed by their father and which allows them to access video and computer security remotely via satellite. It is a tool originally developed to be used for good that others want to get at any cost to pervert for their own greedy ends.

To solve the death of the business man, Hong Yat Hong, an unconventional woman cop (Karen Mok) and her partner are given the case. She is bright with deadly martial arts skills: the perfect foil for Lynn and Sue. The three become acutely involved in a not-so-conventional cat and mouse game.

Subplots involve an old flame in love with Lynn; Sue's jealousy of her older sister; underworld bad guys whom the girls are trying to exact vengence upon for the killing of their parents; and many others.

There are so many unusual forms of death and maiming in this film. Asphixation from poison gas being one of them. And then there are the fashionable combat stiletto boots.
