| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Intersection |
Architect Vincent Eastman (Gere) has been married to his wife Sally (Stone), also an architect for sixteen years. They have a daughter named Meaghan (Jennifer Morrison) and a firm that they built from the ground up, together. Vincent leaves Sally because his wife is not affectionate and more interested in getting ahead at work than in being a wife to Vincent. He feels neglected and unloved and therefore turns to another woman, vivacious journalist Olivia Marshak (Davidovich) for what he needs. Frequent flashbacks in the film explain the background to the failing marriage and the subsequent affair. Vincent is torn between his two worlds- the one he shared with his wife and daughter and the new relationship he is developing with Olivia. Olivia feels the strain too and tells Vincent that she can't give him what he had with his wife. He is forced to choose between the two women and the decision proves to not be an easy one.
