Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Run
Law student Charlie Farrow (Dempsey) has a job delivering cars to their owners. While driving a Porsche from Los Angeles to Atlantic City, Charlie has car trouble and must make a stop. He goes into a bar where gambling is taking place in the back. Assuming that he is rich because of his car, Charlie is invited to join a poker game in progress and much to his surprise, he wins big time.

A very disgruntled Denny Halloran (Petersen) is a sore loser and picks a fight with the young Charlie. Charlie ducks as Denny lunges at him and Denny smashes his head into a table and dies. Charlie flees the bar in fear after he is told that the deceased man's father, Matt Halloran (Pogue) is a mobster. Word of his son's death reaches Matt Halloran and he puts a reward on Charlie's head. The police work for Halloran in this town, therefore they are no help to Charlie whatsoever. In desperation Charlie hides in the backseat of Karen Lander's (Preston) car, a woman who works at the bar where Halloran died. With nobody but Karen on his side, Charlie must run for his life as he figures out how to get out of the nightmare that his life has become.
