| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Ten Commandments |
This movie tells a version of the biblical story of Moses as told in the book of Exodus. The movie begins with the Egyptian princess finding the baby Moses in a basket. His mother hid him, because of the Pharoah's decree that all first born Hebrews be killed because of the prophecy that the man who would save them from slavery would be a Hebrew first born. But he is saved and reared as a member of the royal household. When his true parentage is discovered, he is banished from the royal palace and left to die in an Egyptian desert. But he somehow survives and lives to become the deliverer of the people, as prophesied in the Bible.
