| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Lagaan |
Set in colonial India, This is the story of a group of naive but spirited Indian villagers who take on the British Colony team in the traditionally English game of cricket. The stakes are high as winning will mean a waiver of the high agricultural taxes, but losing could mean doubling that amount.
Beautifully shot in the deserts of Gujarat, this film boasts some outstanding music and a superb performance from the cast including the leading Indian actor Amir Khan.
