Chiriyakhana, directed by Satyajit Ray is a whodunnit featuring an adventure of Bengali author Saradindu Bannerjee's private detective Byomkesh Bakshi. A retired judge who has set up a colony for outcasts outside Calcutta, summons Byomkesh (Uttam Kumar) to conduct an
investigation. He is however murdered and that is followed up by the murder of a deaf and mute witness.
