Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Angel in My Pocket
The Rev. Sam Whitehead (Griffith) is assigned to a new church only to find out the congregation has been fractured by a continuing power struggle between the two families that periodically erupt into fisticuffs. He attempts to reconcile the patriarchs (Jones and Buchanan) to no avail. Whitehead's home situation is just as chaotic and it seems he is doomed to fail, particularly after the town wags attack him for purchasing a used organ for the congregation from a bawdy house. Things get increasingly worse until the church burns down.
