| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Love in Paris (Another 9 1/2 Weeks) |
It's been many years since John Gray (Rourke) has seen his girlfriend Elizabeth. He makes the decision to fly to Paris to find her, ask for her forgiveness and see if she will take him back. His life is empty without her. Upon arriving in Europe, he meets a mysterious and beautiful redhead, fashion designer Lea Calot (Everhart) and her loyal assistant Claire (de La Fontaine). John recognizes a scarf that Lea is wearing as one he had once given to Elizabeth as a gift. Lea tells him that she was Elizabeth's friend while she was living and working in Paris. When he inquires about Elizabeth's whereabouts, Lea informs him that Elizabeth married and moved away. John is crushed to hear this and before long passion ignites between John and Lea. Lea's business partner, Vittorio Da Silva (Berkoff), is not pleased with Lea's deception of Elizabeth's former lover and tells John the truth about Elizabeth's fate- that she hit upon hard times, began using drugs and sadly, succumbed to a fatal drug overdose a few years prior.
