FBI agent Frank Castle, orchestrates one last sting before his retirement party, only to kill crime kingpin, Howard Saint's (John Travolta's) son. Saint's mourning wife, Livia (Laura Harring), orders her husband's men to kill Castle's entire family, which they do, at a Castle family reunion in Puerto Rico. Frank is left for dead, but somehow survives, and begins to plot his revenge against the Saints, pursuing Castle's cash operations, his loyal henchmen, and even framing Saint's wife.

An FBI agent, Frank Castle, is working undercover to bust a group of arms dealers. When the bust goes down one of the dealers is killed. The dealer is the son of a big time criminal. The criminal seeks revenge by killing Frank's entire family and leaving Frank for dead. Frank regains his health and returns. He then gets an apartment where he plans to get revenge.
