Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Babes in Arms
Mickey Moran (Rooney), is the child of vaudevillian parents. He and the other performers' children, including Patsy Barton (Garland), are in danger of being sent to a work farm. Moran cooks up a scheme to, yes, put on a show to demonstrate he and his friends don't belong in an institution and in show business. They have just 30 days to convince the judge (Black) and other well-meaning adults with their production. The gang may also take their show on the road –- perhaps to Broadway.

This was based on the musical by Rodgers and Hart. Directed by Busby Berkeley, only without the over-the-top production typically seen in his work.
