Review Summary and Plot Commentary about L'Enfer
Based on a script written by Henri-Georges Clouzot in 1964, L'ENFER is a movie directed by Claude Chabrol in 1994.

Nelly and Paul are married for 6 years now. They run a family hotel in the French countryside. Completely stressed-out, Paul starts to believe that Nelly is cheating on him. Although he has never seen his wife doing anything wrong, Paul is convinced that she's lying to him. Little by little, Paul will develop paranoid delusions involving his wife and the men who are frequenting the hotel. Nelly will try by all possible means to convince him of her innocence but Paul's obsessive and aggressive behaviour begins to frighten her.
