| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Escape From Alcatraz |
A prisoner heads up a prison break. He and three others prepare for escape. They remove vents in their cells and widen the openings with crudely made digging tools. They construct fake heads using paper mache and build flotation devices uses raincoats. They're able to escape through a vent in the roof. They climb down a waterspout, scale a fence, make their way to the ocean and swim away into the darkness. Not wanting to admit the escape, the warden announces that the convicts didn't escape, that they drowned.
