Robbie Benson plays a naive young basketball player who gets recruited to a big-time college in Colorado. He quickly finds out that athletic talent is not the only thing a basketball player must have. He must deal with the head games played by a sadistic coach who seems to be bent on getting him to quit the team. But with the help of a team mate and his tutor, played by Annette O'Toole, he overcomes the coach and plays to win.
