Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Last Days of Pompeii
Italian director Sergio Leone co-wrote and partly directed THE LAST DAYS OF POMPEII in 1959.

The centurion Glaucus comes back home to Pompeii after having fought the barbarians for years. He finds out that his father has been killed by mysterious thieves who always leave a painted cross on the scene of their crimes. The governor Askinius tells him that a large number of wealthy roman citizens have already been killed and robbed by these criminals.

Glaucus will finally discover that the Christians are innocent of the crimes they are accused. The High Priest of the Isis cult and the governor's mistress are the ones who get richer while putting the blame on the Christians. Glaucus is arrested and condemned to be devoured by the lions with them. Right at this moment, it's the Vesuvius's turn to get mad. Will Pompeii be destroyed?
