Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Species
Terrestrial radio telescopes intercept signals containing information about an intriguing DNA sequence. Adding this information to human DNA may produce a half-human, half-alien lifeform. Of course, tempted, government scientists embark on the experiment. As soon as they have "grown" their creature, they are ready to kill her. Seemingly overnight, she is an adult (Henstridge) -- a blonde bombshell ready to mate NOW, which precipitates all kinds of havoc including her escape from the lab.

Xavier Fitch (Kingsley) is assigned to capture the alien, He assembles a crack team (Madsen, Molina, Helgenberger) to track the creature. All this is complicated further by the fact that word about this experiment gone awry cannot leak out to the general public. This is made difficult as the sexy alien is seducing and eliminating a string of possible mates.
