Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Tapeheads
Ivan and Josh (Cusack and Robbins) are working as security guards, but they have bigger aspirations. In a world where MTV is still shiny and new, they hope to become music video directors and producers. After fooling with the company's video security system, they are fired from their jobs. Now they're forced to try and make a go in their chosen profession as best they can but from the bottom up. They form Video Aces and get a few nibbles for a commercial and a music video on spec. They encounter some sleazy business sorts as they pay their dues. But will they make it to MTV?

The film is filled with cameos from music business personalities including Don Cornelius, Jello Biafra, Junior Walker and Sam Moore. The soundtrack features tracks by Fishbone, Devo, Bo Diddley, King Cotton, the Dead Kennedys, and others
