AN AUTUMN AFTERNOON (Sanma no aji) is a film co-written and directed by Yasujiro Ozu in 1962.
Shuhei is a fifty something widower living with his last son and his only daughter. After endless discussions with his friends, he realizes little by little that his daughter is sacrificing her life for him by staying home and taking care of him. As he doesn't want her to become an old maid, he will try to arrange a marriage for her.
