| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Mother Night |
Nick Nolte plays an American who is writing plays in Germany, who marries a German actress. When World War II breaks out she is killed, and he is asked to send coded messages via his radio program to the Allied troops. After
the war he is labeled a Nazi because of his official position, and hunted for the trials. He hides in New York and is found by his wife's younger sister who impersonates his wife long enough for him to fall in love with her again.
