| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about La Marie du Port |
Based on a Georges Simenon novel, LA MARIE DU PORT is a film directed by Marcel Carné in 1949.
Henri Chatelard, a forty something restaurant owner, meets the younger sister of his mistress and falls in love with her. Marie, a strong head girl, is only 18 years old but knows what she wants in life. She prides herself on Chatelard's love, says good-bye to her boy-friend and waits for Chatelard to ask her to come live with him.
