| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Basic |
BASIC is a military thriller directed by John McTiernan in 2003.
John Travolta is a DEA agent asked by his friend, colonel Styles, to discover what has really happened during a training exercise along the Panama canal. Only two cadets have survived the exercise organized by the hard-edged sergeant West. Travolta and Captain Connie Nielsen will question them during six hours about the tragic event but their versions are contradictory. One of them tells Travolta that West had discovered that some of the cadets were drug dealers, provoking a situation that degenerated into a blood bath.
