| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Mississippi Burning |
MISSISSIPPI BURNING is a movie directed by Alan Parker in 1988. The film earned seven nominations for the 1989 Academy awards but won only one, in the Best Cinematography category.
Two FBI agents, Hackman and Dafoe, are sent to a small Mississippi county to find three missing Civil Rights activists. As no one dares to speak to them, Dafoe is forced to call for more agents in order to impress the local community. The FBI will soon discover that the local sheriff knows more than he says about the three boys's disappearance. Meanwhile, the KKK has begun to commit acts of intimidation against those, black or white, who give informations to the FBI agents.
